WHO WE ARE
Association of citizens “Nexus – Civil Concept” is a nonprofit, non-government and nonpartisan organization which basic goal is Promotion and Advancing of Democracy. We believe that democracy has a value, but is still fragile and depended by the quality of the relations between the citizens and the state. Our aim is to stimulate the citizen, especially the youth by nonviolent means to fulfill the ideals for human rights and freedom through upgrading their skills, knowledge and use of the available resources.

🎭 Last week, NEXUS Civil Concept stepped into six schools in Saraj and Čair with a powerful message delivered through theater.
Our play shed light on how video games, while fun and creative, can sometimes be misused by extremist groups to lure vulnerable young people. Through storytelling, we sparked conversations with students, teachers, and parents about staying safe in digital spaces. 🌍🎮
This is part of our mission to prevent violent extremism by using creativity, dialogue, and community spirit. 💡❤️

📌 Two-day workshop 4-5 of June with school teachers and psychologists from Municipality of Strumica (North Macedonia) on strengthening the capacities for the #prevention of #radicalization leading to #violentextremism and impact of #trauma on child development and family dynamics: condition, recognition, and reactions. 🎭 Last week in Debar, NEXUS Civil Concept brought an important message to elementary school students through the power of theater.
NEXUS’s original play, written and directed to address the “online radicalization of youth through video games”, shed light on how gamification, while often used positively, can be misused by extremist groups to recruit vulnerable young people.
By blending storytelling with education, we aimed to raise awareness among students, teachers, and parents about the hidden dangers in seemingly innocent digital environments.
This is part of our broader efforts in preventing and countering violent extremism (P/CVE), using creativity and dialogue to build resilience in our communities. 🌍🎮

NEXUS Civil Concept, in partnership with Hedayah - The International Center of Excellence For Countering Extremism and Violent Extremism, is proud to publish our latest research study: "THE IMPACT AND VALUE OF P/CVE INTERVENTIONS IMPLEMENTED IN SCHOOLS" in North Macedonia. This research provides critical evidence on how past interventions in schools have influenced students and communities in high-risk areas of vulnerability to extremism in North Macedonia.
NEXUS Civil Concept worked with Hedayah on this research as part of Hedayah's Strengthening Resilience to Violent Extremism (STRIVE) Global Program, funded by the European Commission.
